Duke

Duke is about 8 years old now. He is an Alaskan Husky / White Shepherd mix. At 120 pounds, he is our gentle giant and he always has a smile on his face. I love his eyes. One is blue and the other is brown.

We pulled him from the local SPCA after meeting him at the 17th Annual Walk for the Animals in 2007. The event is a big fundraiser for the SPCA and we attend every year and show our support. What impressed us the most about Duke was how calm he was in the midst of hundreds of dogs at the event. It also helped that Mureille was infatuated with him and was following him around. She sure does know how to pick ‘em!

He is a happy go lucky kind of guy. His paperwork said he was given up by a family that had 9 kids. Dukes loves to take long walks in the woods with the other big guys and really enjoys lounging around and chewing rawhides. Even though he’s a big guy, he loves to run! Must be the husky in him!

Duke was happy to attend the 18th Annual Walk as a participant this time and looks forward to the 19th Annual Walk coming this October 2009.
