Scooter

Scooter is a 6-7 year old Beagle/Hound mix from upstate NY. He was living in an apartment complex near a place that Matt would pick up from in the truck. We know his name is Scooter because he had a collar and tags at one point. Every day Scooter would go to this building at about lunch time and the workers would give him pieces of their lunch and pet him. After a while, Scooter started showing up more often and was beginning to get thinner and thinner every day. One of the ladies told Matt that the apartment complex had closed and everyone had moved out. Scooter had been abandoned. Matt packed him up in the big rig and brought him home.

Scooter was a very sweet dog but it wasn’t long before his aggressive side came out and we wondered if that was why he was abandoned. We have worked very hard with Scooter and he has made a lot of progress but he is still unpredictable at times.

Scooter loves taking walks in the woods and is true to his hunting dog heritage. He always has his nose down to the ground searching for game. He especially loves to chase chipmunks, rabbits and the occasional deer. His favorite toy is his plastic hamburger.
