“Blessed is the person who has earned the love of an old dog.” - Sydney Jeanne Seward

Who We Are

Mureille’s Place is a small home-based 501c3 rescue. We are a no-kill facility that provides a safe haven for unwanted senior dogs until they can be adopted into a forever home or if unadoptable, live out their remaining days with love, dignity and respect. The sanctuary is located on 7 wooded acres that include several walking trails that the dogs enjoy year round. We are very proud that we are an all volunteer rescue and do not have any paid staff or board members and that all donations go to the rescue operation.

Our Mission

To provide a safe haven for senior and unwanted dogs
To provide lifelong quality care for rescued senior dogs
To find suitable homes for adoptable senior dogs
To bring awareness to the public of the often forgotten senior dog
To improve the lives of animals

Adopting a Friend

Our adoption process includes a pre-adoption interview to determine the type of home you will provide and will aid us in finding the right dog for you. We prefer that the dog do an “overnight” visit before adopting to ensure that both the adopter and the dog are sure that it is a good match. There is an application to be filled out, a home visit and adoption donation typically from $50 - $150 (non-refundable). All dogs are spayed or neutered and are up to date on all shots.

We require you to sign a contract stating that the dog will live inside and that you will provide routine veterinary care and return the dog to us if it does not work out. These stipulations pertain to the entire life of the animal. You are able to call us for advice at any point. We will stand by your side and by the dog’s side every step of the way.
